| 8/26/08 | I would like to participate in the MOAB Expedition Race on 25-28 September but am still looking for team mate(s) - either a team of 2 or a team of 4. I am a competitive racer who at the same time wants to have fun while on the course. Looking for a decent finish, but realistic enough to know that a podium place won't be in the cards for me. I am 37, in good physical condition, have previously participated in 8 adventure races in the US and South-East Asia, most of them 12hr races and one 3 day race. This would be my first 3 day expedition race in the US. Decent runner and strong biker on average terrain. Long kayak stretches and very technical mountain bike (down)hills are probably my weakest point. Most MTB experience is with east coast terrain. Let me know if you are interested to form a team. | 8/18/08 | So I know this is late in the game, but I am looking for a team for the Vail race. I was training for a 24 hour bike event when my teammate bailed. So I have the fitness and experience with kayaking, biking, hiking, running (although not super fast), trekking, and some nav experience. I have never done an adventure race but did compete in the 3P Salida and multiple biking and running events including a 24 hour race last year. I am fairly competitive but want to have fun and get introduced to this sport. Let me know if you need another gal or want to create a team! I'm open to a 2, 3, or 4-person team (don't want to solo my first adventure race!). Christina Evanson |
